A day after coach Mike Tomlin said the Steelers would be full-go at practice this week, the team opened workouts for Sunday’s game at Cleveland with a new injury concern. Linebacker Melvin Ingram III was limited by a groin problem. Coming off their bye week, the Steelers even had Ben Roethlisberger on the practice field on a Wednesday, although he was limited. So was wide receiver Chase Claypool, who is nursing a sore hamstring.
Big Ben says he knows that the Browns’ defense is big-time.
Roethlisberger said it was good to see second-year running back Anthony McFarland back at practice. He has not played this year because of a lower body injury but was activated this week. And his quarterback says McFarland is a much different player than he was in his rookie year.
Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield and running back Nick Chubb both practiced yesterday. Mayfield has a torn labrum in his left shoulder and a cracked humerus bone in his left arm, but says he wants to play Sunday. Chubb is returning from a calf injury.
