A Homer City man was apprehended yesterday after a report of a suspicious vehicle in Center Township.
State police say that 31-year-old Brian Scott Davenport of Homer City now faces felony charges of possession with intent to deliver and firearms violations along with misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance and of drug paraphernalia. On Tuesday, police were dispatched to the 286 Auto Repair for a report of a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot. When police got there, they found the suspicious vehicle, a 2004 Honda CR-V with Davenport inside of it sleeping. A woman was also in the vehicle at the time. Davenport was in possession of a small plastic baggie containing suspected crystal methamphetamine and about $2409 in cash. When the car was searched, police found suspected opioids and meth, pills, a large amount of cash, four cell phones, a 9mm pistol loaded with six rounds of ammo, a scale, magnetic containers and other items of drug paraphernalia.
During the course of the investigation, police discovered that he was wanted by police in Blairsville for a charge of fleeing or attempting to elude police along with three summary violations for an incident on October 14th. The woman was identified and released pending further investigation.
Davenport was arraigned yesterday in front of District Judge Susanne Steffee and was placed in Indiana County Jail in lieu of $100,000 cash bail. A preliminary hearing is set for November 9th at 10:30 AM.
