Coach Mike Tomlin says it doesn’t matter to him who starts at quarterback for the Browns when the Steelers visit Cleveland on Sunday. Starter Baker Mayfield has an injured shoulder and may miss his second straight game. Backup Case Keenum led the Browns to a win against Denver last week, and Tomlin says they are both capable NFL quarterbacks.
Tomlin says the game on Sunday is an important AFC North contest, but all games are important in the division.
Tomlin says the Steelers understand that Sunday has the potential to be crazy in Cleveland.
Tomlin said defensive end Stephon Tuitt’s return to the Steelers’ active roster is “not imminent”. Tuitt has been out all season with a knee injury. The coach also said running back Anthony McFarland will be activated from injured reserve for Sunday’s game, and everyone else on the active roster is healthy.
Tomlin also shot down speculation that he might be a target to take over the vacant college coaching jobs at LSU and USC, saying, “Never say never, but never.”
