The River Valley School Board is set to meet tonight, and the board will look to approve a pre-K counts partnership agreement with ARIN Intermediate Unit 28.
As part of the agreement, River Valley will provide a full-day program for 180 days this year, and also sets the student-to-teacher ratio to 20 students to one teacher and one teacher aide. The agreement also includes a slow-start method to get students acclimated to the program, a plan to involve parents in their child’s education, and snack and meal requirements.
Also on the agenda tonight is a memorandum of understanding between the district and the River Valley Educators Association for parent teacher conferences for this school year, and an affiliation agreement with Slippery Rock University, and an addendum for a contract with Pressley Ridge in Greensburg. The board will also look at purchasing chromebooks, and the first reading of policies including review of instructional materials by parents/guardians and students, school wellness, purchases subject to bid and the use of social media.
The meeting will be held tonight at the Saltsburg STEAM Academy cafeteria at 7:00 PM.
