Schools are continuing to deal with new cases of Covid-19 being discovered in students and staff.
Indiana Area School District reported today one new case of Covid-19 in a student at the Senior High, and it will be attributed to the rolling 14-day count. No additional students or staff have to be quarantined in this case. According to the Coivd-19 dashboard for the district, there are now five student cases at the Senior High, two among the junior high-Eisenhower student body, and three cases at Ben Franklin Elementary. While there are no cases at Horace Mann or East Pike, two students from Horace Mann and six from East Pike remain in quarantine for now.
Penns Manor reported a new case on Monday in an employee in the elementary school. The employee was last in school on October 20th, and no one at the school was a close contact to require quarantine.
A staffer has also tested positive for covid-19 in the United Elementary School. Notifications have been made to students who may have been a close contact with that teacher.
On its dashboard, Homer-Center reports three Covid-19 cases: One in an elementary staffer that goes back to October 18th and two high school students, one on the 21st and one yesterday. No close contacts were identified and all Department of Health protocols were followed.
River Valley reports two students and an employee at Saltsburg Elementary, four students and one employee at Blairsville Elementary, three students at River Valley Middle School and one student at River Valley High School have tested positive for Covid-19 over the last 14 days along with one district employee.
Marion Center is reporting no covid-19 cases as of today.
