The crash was reported at 5:02 PM along Old Route 119 South just outside the Homer City Borough line. Homer City fire chief Terry Gardner said that the car veered off the road as it was heading into town and went down an embankment and into the creek.
The driver was able to get themselves out and to safety, and once that happened, Gardner said they were able to take their time in getting the car out of the creek with a crane, ropes and rigging.
Crews were on the scene for about two and a half hours to get the car out of the creek.
