The Pirates have signed their first round draft pick.
Shane Baz signed his contract just 24 hours shy of his 18th birthday. His contract includes a $4.1 million signing bonus. Baz is coming straight out of high school in Tomball, Texas and was 6-2 with a 0.92 ERA. Baz did have a scholarship to TCU this fall, but decided to pass on it to sign with the Bucs.
