A Pittsburgh man entered guilty pleas in Indiana County Court Tuesday morning for charges connected to an officer-involved shooting on IUP’s campus last year.
Indiana County District Attorney Robert Manzi announced 20-year-old Cameron Raubaugh pleaded guilty to a felony count of aggravated assault and a misdemeanor charge of making false reports for an incident at the George P. Miller Stadium Parking lot on October 29, when he alerted police of a robbery in progress, but officers instead found him with a knife in his hands. He knocked down one officer and police fired a shot at him but it missed. He was later subdued with a taser and taken into custody.
Raubaugh also pleaded guilty to a felony charge of criminal trespass. This stemmed from February 9 when IUP police officers found him on campus after he was prohibited from it following the incident in October.
He will go for sentencing July 29, with a pre-sentence investigation to take place sometime before.
