State police have now confirmed that two people died this morning in a crash outside of Brush Valley Township.
Authorities say two drivers, a 22-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman, were killed in the crash near the intersection of Route 56 and Sunflower Lane in Brush Valley Township. The man was driving a sedan east on 56 while the woman drove her van west on that same road. The sedan for unknown reasons veered into the oncoming lane and the two collided head on around 5:51 this morning.
Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene. Their names are being withheld pending notification of next-of-kin. There were no passengers in either vehicle.
The Troop A Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Specialist Unit was on the scene this morning to help with the investigation. Also assisting on scene were Brush Valley, Armagh and Homer City fire departments and Citizens’ Ambulance Service.
