The Pirates struggled late in the game against the Cubs and ended up on the wrong end of a rout. Joe Block reports.
The Pirates are back in action today, and it is a highly-anticipated day for not just the Bucs, but for Major League Baseball, as top pitching prospect Paul Skenes will start in the bigs for the first time in his career.
So far, Skenes is 0-0 with a 0.99 ERA in seven games for Triple-A Indianapolis, and he has thrown 45 strike outs and allowed eight walks. Going against him will be Chicago’s Justin Steele, who is also looking for his first win, with a 0.96 ERA in nine innings pitched.
You can hear the game starting at 3:40 on WCCS. First pitch is scheduled for 4:05.
