A lot is going on in the Pittsburgh Region, with special events like the Pride festival and the Three Rivers Arts, but police are already planning to Sunday as the Pens take on the Predators in game six of the Stanley cup Finals.
Many police officers will be on standby in case celebrations get a bit rowdy and go out into the streets of Pittsburgh. Many fans will pack PPG Paints Arena as the Pens will hold a Watch Party in the arena for game six Sunday night. Tickets for that watch party went on sale on Friday, and they were asking for $10 a seat, with the proceeds going to the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundations.
Also, we’ve heard that Pittsburgh’s public works officials have been on “Porch Patrol” getting people to remove couches from porches before tomorrow night. Couches, mattresses and other pieces of furniture have been known to be set on fire in the wake of a championship-clinching victory celebration, and it’s something that they, along with us, do not recommend doing.
You can listen to the game Sunday night on U-92.5 FM starting at 7:00 with the pre-game show.
