The Indiana County Commissioners wish to clear up some confusion with recent mailers concerning mail-in ballots.
Commissioners say that a recent mailing went out that had an error in wording which was “must be postmarked by.” In an effort to clear up the confusion, a second postcard was sent out, but county elections officials have received many calls saying the second postcard made things even more confusing. This time, it is over the use of the word “physically” when regarding when the mail-in ballots have to be in by.
Commissioners have posted an announcement now on the county’s website saying that ballots can either be mailed or dropped off in person at the voter registration office. Ballots will be accepted no later than 8:00 PM on election day. Ballots can be dropped off between 8 AM and 4 PM Monday through Friday, with the exception of election day, as the office will be open until 8:00 on election day.
People are asked to contact the voter registration office at 724-465-3852 if they have any further questions.
