Pirates 2019 first round draft pick Quinn Priester has been named High-A East League pitcher of the year. The right-hander was 7-4 with a 3.04 ERA, 98 strikeouts, and 39 walks in twenty starts this year with Greensboro.
Priester’s former teammate, outfielder Matt Frazier, was named High-A East League MVP. He led the league in hits, total bases, slugging percentage, OPS, and runs, tied for first in home runs with twenty, and in extra base hits with 37 before his promotion to Altoona.
Priester and Frazier were joined on the High-A East League postseason All-Star team by two other Pirates prospects, second baseman Nick Gonzalez and third baseman Jared Triolo.
Altoona’s Oneil Cruz and Mason Martin were named yesterday to the Double-A Northeast league postseason All-Star team.
