A man who lead Blairsville police on a chase in Blairsville in late August is due in court today for a preliminary hearing.
32-year-old Paul Eckenrode IV of Blairsville will go before District Judge Robert Bell Sr. today for the hearing. Blairsville police said on August 29th they tried to pull him over on South Walnut street for an expired registration. Instead of pulling over, Eckenrode hit the gas and lead police on a chase that went from Blairsville to Derry Township, where he tried to turn right onto Cherry Street. He lost control of the car at that point and skidded off the road and into the grass. Eckenrode gave himself up at that point.
Officers also found he had an outstanding traffic warrant. He was later freed on $10,000 unsecured bond.
