United junior Michaela Bracken won the 100 and 300 hurdles Tuesday at the PIAA District 6 AA Championships in Altoona.
Bracken, who did not compete in hurdles at the Heritage Conference meet a week earlier and focused on sprints instead, won the 100 hurdles in 15.85 and the 300 in 45.61. She also captured fifth place in the high jump.
Junior Emma Arblaster took third in the 300 hurdles, senior Ryleigh Ludwig took third in the 3,200 and sophomore Regan Tomalson took third in the shot put, as United placed fourth overall in the team standings.

The Marion Center girls placed third overall, led by senior Taya Whitfield with first places in the 800 and 1,600, sophomore MacKenzie Walker with a second place in the 3,200 and junior Emily Risinger with a third place in the 200. The Stingers girls also won the 4×400 relay and took a second in the 4×800 relay.
Saltsburg junior Holly Long placed second in the 200 and 400 and third in the 100. Homer-Center senior Mandy McElheny placed second in the 800, while senior Morgan Buggey was second in the javelin. Penns Manor junior Kate Polenik took first in the shot put and third in the javelin.
On the boys’ side, Homer-Center junior Sam Cunkelman placed second in the 800. United junior Sam Arblaster placed third in the high jump, while senior Devin Mack was second in the shot put.
Among Heritage Conference schools, the Ligonier Valley boys finished third overall.
