Kenny Pickett threw for 389 yards and four touchdowns as Pitt blasted Georgia Tech, 52-21, in the Panthers’ ACC opener. Pickett completed 23 of his 36 passes, spreading the ball around to 11 different receivers.
Pitt’s defense asserted itself early, intercepting the first two passes by Georgia Tech quarterback Jeff Sims. Linebacker John Petrishen returned the second of those picks for a touchdown.
Pitt is off this week and plays Virginia Tech on October 16th.
