State police have offered an update on their investigation into a Hit-and-Run crash that happened Wednesday night in White Township.
As we reported, police were trying to find the driver and car responsible for the crash on Route 422 at 11:39 that night. Police said that 22-year-old Phillip Crook of Commodore had pulled over after his truck started to malfunction. He got out and when he tried to get back in, a black Dodge Ram pickup driven by an unknown person swerved off the road and hit the partially open driver’s side door, destroying the door and partially dislocating Crook’s left arm. After the driver of the Dodge got out and yelled at Crook, the unknown driver fled the scene.
Police are now saying that thanks to exposure in the media and the public, both the suspect and the vehicle were identified. Police have not released the identity of the suspect as the investigation is on-going.
