Multiple fire crews were called out to a fire in the Timberlake Development of Cherryhill Township Wednesday night.
Indiana County 911 reported that at 6:15 PM, Cherryhill Township, Clymer, Commodore and Pine Township fire departments, along with Citizens’ Ambulance and the county Hazmat team, were called out to a home on Old Gate Road. Cherryhill Township Volunteer Fire Department officials said the fire was electrical in nature, starting in the electrical panel box in the basement. The fire did go into the basement itself and spread into the floor above. Fire crews were able to knock down the fire quickly, with most of the time spent for ventilating smoke out of the house and checking for any further hot spots.
A lot of wire burned, and there was a bit of charring in the basement, but no other damage was reported. The homeowners stayed with relatives last night, but the home is salvageable.
