None of the Heritage Conference’s golfers advanced to the state tournament after yesterday’s District 6 championships at the Scotch Valley Country Club in Hollidaysburg. St. Joseph’s Tim Peters won the Double-A title, with a 75, one stroke better than Lukas Cascino of Bishop McCort. The top eight golfers move on.
Three of the Heritage Conference golfers, Brady Houser of Northern Cambria, Sean McCullough of West Shamokin, and Braden Staats of River Valley, shot 86 to finish three strokes away from qualifying. Northern Cambria’s John Zemrose also finished out of the running.
Indiana High’s boys lost a close one to Penn Trafford, dropping a five-stroke decision to the section titlist. Harrison Martineau started hot for Indiana, going three-under through the first five holes, but finished three over par at 39. Trevor Todd shot 41, Alex Holuta 42, Gabe Nettleton 43, and Philip Bell 47.
Indiana’s girls finished their season with a 15-shot loss to Connellsville. Hope Cook led Indiana with a 48. Addie Raykes shot 53, Jenny Todd 54, and Emily Teacher 65. Indiana finishes 5-10 on the season and 3-9 in their section.
