SOFTBALL
In a matchup of two top teams in the Heritage Conference, Marion Center edged West Shamokin, 1-0. The Stingers’ Cheyenne Silvis threw a no-hitter at the potent Wolves lineup, striking out 7. Brookelynn Hill had two hits for the Stingers and Silvis, Lydia Miller, Mya Lispsie, and Madi Lipsie each had a hit. West Shamokin will get a chance at revenge tomorrow when they host the Stingers in the rematch.
Callie Reaugh’s single drove in the winning run as River Valley scored twice in the 5th to beat Richland, 2-1. Emilee Skirboll had two hits and Sara Bollinger drove in a run with a grounder. In the circle, Bollinger struck out 4 in seven innings.
Conemaugh Valley trounced Cambria Heights, 16-7.
Curwensville routed Purchase Line, 11-1.
Olivia Zimmerman gave up just two hits and struck out eight as Indiana shut out Knoch, 2-0. Ella Myers and Maggie Cunningham both doubled for Indiana.
BASEBALL
Ben Ryan had 3 hits and an RBI and Andrew McGee had two hits and drove in a run as Indiana clipped Hampton, 6-4. Greg Minnick threw 4 innings of one-hit ball, striking out 9 and walking 4 to get the win. The same two teams play today and we’ll have it on Renda Digital TV at 4 o’clock.
Richland topped River Valley, 7-6. Ethan Janidlo had 4 hits for the Rams.
Harmony made a second inning run hold up as they beat Purchase Line, 1-0. Jack Bracken threw five innings for the win, striking out 13 and Jarred Sward tossed the final two innings, with four K’s. Devlan Kordish struck out 12 over 6 innings for the Red Dragons.
