After leading his defensive linemates through spring practice, Pitt senior defensive end Dayon Hayes has announced on his X account that he is entering the transfer portal. Hayes apologized to coach Pat Narduzzi and his teammates but wrote, “This is a business and…
(his) time (at Pitt) has come to an end.” With three defensive linemen from last year’s Panthers having used up their eligibility and end Patrick Okunlola having also transferred, the loss of Hayes opens a very large gap on Pitt’s defensive front.
PITT BASKETBALL
6-10 sophomore forward Cam Corhen has given a verbal commitment to transfer from Florida State to Pitt. Corhen averaged 9.4 points and 3.9 rebounds per game for the Seminoles last season, and dropped 25 on Pitt just last month. He’ll help coach Jeff Capel fill the hole left by the departure of center Federiko Federiko.
