Homer-Center graduate Justley Sharp won both the discus and the shot put yesterday at the Bison Outdoor Classic at Bucknell University in Lewisburg. The Bucknell freshman threw the discus 156 feet, 3 inches, a personal best. In the shot put, she threw 48 feet, 9-and-a-half inches, a quarter of an inch shy of her personal best.
IUP track & field made twelve PSAC qualifying marks. Kaylla Williams posted a Division II Provisional mark with her third-place toss in the javelin. Cahsia Page collected a pair of PSAC marks in the 400 and 200 meters.
For the men, Justin Egizio posted qualifying marks in the 400 and 200, and SahBri Hill posted 13th in the triple jump.
SWIMMING
Luke Mikesell has been named to the 2024 PSAC Winter Top 10 Team, which is awarded to student-athletes who excel in the classroom and in competition. Mikesell has a cumulative GPA of 3.56. He’s already been named the PSAC Most Outstanding Male Swimmer after winning two conference championships this season, in the 200 free an 500 free.
FOOTBALL
IUP football players Drew Dinunzio-Biss and Quinn Zinoble last week were named to the 2024 National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society. The honor is for players who have completed their eligibility and maintained a minimum 3.2 GPA.
