The Pirates won a second consecutive game last night behind the stellar play of outfielder Ben Gamel.

Manager Derek Shelton says Ben Gamel has been a great addition to the Pirates clubhouse.
Lefty Dillon Peters was activated from the injured list and started for the Pirates last night, going four innings and giving up two earned runs. Five relievers pitched an inning each, giving up a total of four hits and no runs. Reliever Shea Spitzbarth was returned to Indianapolis to make room on the roster for Peters.
The series concludes tonight at PNC Park. Mitch Keller (4-10) pitches for the Pirates, coming off a strong start in Chicago last Thursday in which he threw six shutout innings and struck out eight. Right-hander Matt Manning (3-6) pitches for Detroit.
