Before Indiana Borough Council’s Agenda Prep meeting, council will hold a hearing for its 2021 community development block grant program.
The hearing will be held at 6:30 tonight at the conference room of the borough building. The purpose of the hearing will be to discuss the CDBG project selection and the three-year plan for Indiana County “on behalf of” Indiana Borough. It will also go into why certain activities were selected while others were not. The selected activity will be a storm sewer system improvement project on South 15th Street. Multiple CDBG allocations are going into this project.
At least 70 percent of the available funding must be used for activities to benefit low-to-middle income people. The county, on behalf of the borough, is expecting about $201,000 for the project.
