Noah Cain scored on a two-yard run with 9:17 left in the fourth quarter and the Penn State defense stopped Wisconsin after the Badgers had a first-and-goal from the one-yard line as the Nittany Lions opened their season with a 16-10 win in Madison.
Jaquan Brisker intercepted a pass on fourth down from the two after Penn State stiffened on the Badgers’ potential game-winning drive. On the previous possession, Penn State’s Ji’Ayir Brown had picked off a pass deep in Nittany Lion territory. Penn State’s defense held Wisconsin scoreless on four trips inside the 25-yard line, three of them inside the 10.
