The Pirates began their six-game trip to Chicago with a loss to the White Sox last night.

Manager Derek Shelton says it was another strong outing for Wilson.
It was the Pirates first game since Monday’s firing of hitting coach Rick Eckstein. Shelton says Eckstein’s departure will not change the way the team evaluates its hitters.
Ke’Byran Hayes will not need to go onto the injured list after injuring his hand during Sunday’s game against the Cardinals. Hayes suffered the injury when he slammed his helmet on the dugout bench in frustration after being called out on strikes in the 6th inning. He left the game in the 8th.
The Pirates yesterday recalled infielder/outfielder Hoy Park from Indianapolis. He started at second base and was 0-for-3. Infielder/outfielder Michael Chavis was placed on the injured list. He hurt his elbow diving for a ball in right field on Sunday. In a social media post, infielder Philip Evans also indicated he is being recalled and several sources report that former National League All Star pitcher Shelby Miller is also being called up from Indianapolis.
