Jake Guentzel scored with 6:50 remaining in overtime to give the Penguins a 5-4 win in Columbus Sunday night. With the win, the Pens took a 3-0 series lead in their first-round NHL playoff series with the Blue Jackets.
The goal gave Guentzel the hat trick. His first goal tied the game at 1-1 in the first period, but the period ended with Columbus leading the Pens, 3-1.
Bryan Rust scored twice in the second period to tie the score at 3-3, and Guentzel’s second goal gave the Pens the lead in the third period.
Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 33 of 37 shots.
The Penguins go for the sweep on Tuesday at 7:30 in Columbus.
