Many plea court hearings are on the docket today for Indiana County’s Court of Common Pleas, including one for a woman who allegedly tried to hit people with her car in a parking lot.
Court documents show 55-year-old Jamie Jo Nibert of Indiana will go before President Judge Thomas Bianco today for her plea hearing. She is charged with three counts each of reckless endangerment, aggravated assault-attempt to cause severe bodily injury with extreme indifference and reckless driving, along with one count each of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. On November 29th of last year, Indiana Borough Police say that she was driving recklessly in the parking lot at Sheetz on the corner of Philadelphia and 4th Streets, and tried to hit a police car, another vehicle and other customers with her car.
Also due for her plea hearing today is 23-year-old Ellie May McCausland, a 23-year-old woman from Home, who is charged with endangering the welfare of a child for an incident on March 2nd of this year. Police say that her 1-year-old child had turned blue and passed out before the child’s uncle called 911. As it turned out, the child suffered from an overdose of opiates, and needed to be revived with Narcan.
