The Altoona Curve lost to the Richmond Flying Squirrels 6-3 Friday night.
Omar Cruz was cruising in his start, going five inning s, striking out four batters and walking two, but keeping Richmond off the board. Nathan Kirby also held Richmond off the board for 1 and 2/3rds innings, but late in the game, Richmond’s offense came to life. The Flying Squirrels scored six unanswered runs, one in the seventh, three in the eighth, including a two-run homer by David Villar, and two more runs in the 9th.
The two teams will play again tonight. Travis MacGregor will start for Altoona while Aaron Blair will start for Richmond.
