Before Friday night’s game the Pirates made a trade, sending injured pitcher J.T. Brubaker and international bonus pool money to the New York Yankees for a player to be named later.
Brubaker is 9 for 28 with a 4.99 ERA over 63 appearances in three seasons for the Pirates, but Brubaker had to have Tommy John surgery that has kept him out all of last season. He will remain on the 60-day injured list until after this year’s all-star break.
