With move-in concluding today, classes for the fall semester begin at IUP tomorrow. Meanwhile, Indiana County’s public schools are preparing to open their fall terms in the next week as well.
School buses will be rolling for the start of classes at Marion Center, Purchase Line, United, and ICTC on Wednesday; Homer Center and Penns Manor start on Thursday. Indiana Area and River Valley will begin on Monday, August 30th.
River Valley (the former Blairsville-Saltsburg School District) has scheduled a “kick off” event this Wednesday for all students and families. Middle and high school students will be able to follow their schedules and check out their classes before the start of school next Monday. The event begins at 4 PM.

4:00-5:00 p.m. Complimentary Food/Games
5:00 p.m. Welcome Presentation
5:30-7:30 p.m. Meet the Teacher/Follow Schedule
7:45 p.m. Bonfire with music by the River Valley Marching Band
**Shuttles will be provided from the Saltsburg Campus at 3:20 p.m.
and will return to the Saltsburg Campus at the end of the event.
