State police have released their final numbers from the four-day IUPatty’s detail, and have reported fewer traffic-related incidents and a slight uptick in other investigations and arrests.
State police initiated 143 traffic stops between March 21st and 24th, issuing 61 citations and 51 written warnings. State Police also investigated one crash and had one investigation of fleeing or eluding police. Most of those categories were substantially lower than in 2023, except with the one fleeing or eluding case.
There were five DUI-Alcohol arrests, three DUI-Drug arrests and three were arrested for DUI-Alcohol and Drugs. 29 arrests were made for possession of alcohol by a minor. In all, there were 64 criminal investigations and arrests over the four-day period, which is higher than the 47 reported last year.
This is for incidents that involved state police in some form, whether they were the primary investigators or the assistants.
