There have been some IUP students that have already moved in to their homes on and off campus, and more are expected to come today and later this week.
As part of Welcome Week at IUP, new students have been moving into on-campus housing and 100 international students are expected to take part in orientation today and tomorrow. Continuing students living on-campus will move in this Saturday and Sunday, with the first full day of classes coming Monday, August 23rd.
Some IUP students are already on campus getting acclimated to the area. They are members of the new Crimson Scholars Circle program, and they moved in on Saturday, August 7th and have been here for a week already. The program is designed to influence retention and persistence among minority students at the university.
This Friday will be the traditional Opening of the Academic Year Program, where IUP President Dr. Michael Driscoll and university and union leadership are expected to give remarks. That will be held at 9:00 AM at Fisher Auditorium in the performing arts center at IUP. The event will also be live-streamed on the university’s YouTube page.
