Fair season got underway this weekend as the Dayton Fair opened its doors Friday night.
Some festivities that took place yesterday were the horse and pony contest – held in the grandstands – a community church service, and the crowning of 2021 Dayton Fair Queen, that went to Lexi Poole. Rylee Ewing was named runner-up.
The Dayton Fair officially opens to the public today at 1 p.m. Rides open at 5 p.m. along with a Judging Light Horse Game Show at the Horse Arena.
Sanctus will hold a concert tonight in the grandstands beginning at 7 p.m. The concert is free with fair admission, however it will be an extra $5 to stand on the track. You can read more about planned events at the Dayton Fair website, at daytonfair.org.
The Indiana County Fair is scheduled to start the weekend of August 28; The Cookport Fair is set to open Sept. 16; and the Green Township Fair is set to open on Sept. 18.
