State police are investigating a case in Center Township where someone paid for home improvement services but did not receive them.
Troopers say this goes back to December 15th of last year, when a man from Graceton paid Luzier’s Property Maintenance a check for $7,125, which was an 80% down payment on a housing project job involving gutters and other small tasks at the victim’s home which were to have been completed in a timely manner. The job was to have started at that time, but the suspect, 40-year-old William Luzier cashed the check and made no effort to even start the job. Luzier allegedly stopped responding to the victim and did not reply to any letters sent to him about the project.
Police say that an arrest by appointment is set for Monday, March 25th at District Judge Susanne Steffee’s court. Luzier is charged with making false statements to induce agreement for home improvement services, theft by deception and receiving advance payment for services and failure to perform.
