On Thursday night, Penns Manor Superintendent Daren Johnston reminded district residents about some of the Covid-19 mitigation protocols in the district before the start of the school year.
Johnston said that for students in the district, face masks are optional for students while in schools, but it is required by federal mandate for masks to be worn on the bus. Johnston also said that one simple thing that can be done to stop the spread of Covid-19 is having a student stay home if they feel sick.
He also suggested that temperature checks continue at home. The school will continue to keep students physically distanced like what happened last year, and contact tracing will continue.
In other business, the board approved an agreement with Gittings to perform security and threat preparedness services at a cost of $1,499 for a one-year agreement. The board also approved the vehicles of Tri-County Transportation for the school year, along with the bus driver and substitute lists and the tentative bus schedules and routes.
