The union representing the teachers at the State System of Higher Education announced its members will get a chance to vote on a new contract soon.
APSCUF announced that a tentative contract agreement was completed by both sides last week after coming to an agreement in principle in January on a new contract. Delegates from all fourteen campuses met on Monday and voted to recommend that the tentative agreement be put up for a vote by the union membership.
Faculty members will get the chance to vote on April 2nd through the 4th on whether to ratify the contract. If a majority of the membership approves the contract, it will then go before the State System Board of Governors for final approval.
In a statement, APSCUF President Dr. Kenneth Mash said that he felt the new agreement will reflect well on the state system, and appreciated the hard work that went into the agreement and Chancellor Dan Greenstein’s involvement. Greenstein said that the contract also acknowledges the work done by the faculty during the pandemic and advanced the redesign of the State System.
Meanwhile, contract talks between the State System and coaches represented by APSCUF will continue today and next Monday.
