The American Red Cross says Indiana County’s blood drives this summer have done well, but across the district, there has been a significant number of donor no-shows and there are also fewer donors scheduling. That’s led to a critical shortage of blood available to medical practitioners.
There are three blood drives scheduled this week in Indiana County: Tuesday from 1:30 to 6 PM at the Marion Center Presbyterian Church; Wednesday from noon to 6 at the Ramada by Wyndham in Indiana; and Thursday from 1 to 6 at the Armagh/East Wheatfield Fire Hall.
Two more blood drives are scheduled in the county later this month: August 24th at the Blairsville VFW and the 25th at the Purchase Line United Methodist Church.
Walk-ins are welcome at all of the county’s blood drives and you can also schedule an appointment at RedCrossBlood.org
