UPDATE: Two people were hurt in a vehicle crash on Route 403 on Thursday. Pine Township Fire Captain Amy Muir said that one vehicle drifted into the opposite lane and sideswiped the other, resulting in one vehicle going off the road and the other blocking one lane of travel. Both drivers had to be extricated, and one was flown to the hospital while the other was taken by ambulance.
WHAT WE FIRST REPORTED
Indiana County first responders were busy with multiple calls throughout the county, including a vehicle crash where at least one person was hurt.
Indiana County 911 reported a vehicle crash on Route 403 North in Pine Township. Pine Township and Cherryhill Township fire departments were dispatched to the scene at 1:30 PM, along with Citizens’ Ambulance and state police. Cherryhill Township fire crews were also requested to set up a landing zone in the same area. State police have not released any details on the crash as of yet.
Indiana Fire Association members were also busy yesterday with two calls. One of them was for a mulch fire on Oakland Avenue in White Township. Company 2 was dispatched at 4:17 PM. And companies 3 and 4 were dispatched to a location on Warren Road at 5:43 PM for an automatic fire alarm activation.
Two more automatic fire alarms resulted in Indiana County fire companies being dispatched. One was at 11:54 PM, with Plumville firefighters going to a call on Washington Avenue in Armstrong County. The other was at 4:01 this morning with Coral-Graceton, Blairsville and Black Lick fire crews dispatched to a location on Route 119 south in Burrell Township.
