The reaction by Chicago media to the trade of Justin Fields to the Steelers for a 2025 6th round draft pick tells the story. The narrative goes, “Fields was never given a real chance to establish himself as the Bears’ quarterback, he has lots of unrealized potential, and Chicago virtually gave him away for no return.”
Fields will back up Russell Wilson in Pittsburgh. If Wilson gets hurt and Fields plays more than fifty percent of the team’s offensive snaps, the 6th round pick becomes a 4th rounder.
An interesting college football note involving the Steelers…Class of 2025 wide receiver prospect Jerome Bettis Jr. will follow his dad and play at Notre Dame. Bettis Sr. rushed for 1,912 yards and 27 touchdowns at Notre Dame from 1990-to-1992.

Former Ravens quarterback Tyler Huntley has signed a one-year deal with Cleveland, joining a crowded Browns quarterback room. The Browns have Deshaun Watson returning and last week they signed Jameis Winston. Dorian Thompson-Robinson also is returning.
