Indiana High’s hockey season ended last week with a semifinal loss in the Penguins Cup, but their players are still skating – and playing well – for their club teams.
The Indiana Chiefs beat the Arctic Foxes in double overtime yesterday at Robert Morris University to clinch the PAHL 18U Major playoff championship. After trailing 1-0 following a first-period Foxes goal, Ash Lockard scored late in the third period to force overtime. Andrew Kobak assisted on the goal. After a scoreless first overtime, Indiana’s Gabe Nettleton got the game-winning goal at the start of the second OT, again with an assist on a pass from Kobak. Jayden Learn stopped 34 shots to get the win in goal.
Indiana County has four players on the roster of the MidState Mustangs, which last weekend won the Pennsylvania State 14U AA Championship. The team moves on to the Nationals on April 3rd through the 7th in Amherst, New York. The four players from Indiana County are Matthew Stone, Zdeno Dzuro, Brady Oakes, and Brooks Stormer.
