There will be a town hall meeting tonight in Saltsburg concerning the future of the River Valley School District.
The meeting will be held at 7:00 at the River Hall on Salt Street, and the topic will be the status of the project to stop the redistricting processes that will send middle and high school students from Saltsburg over to the Blairsville campus, close the Saltsburg Middle-High School building and reopen it as a district STEAM academy. Attorney Joel Sansone, who has represented the grass-roots group Save Our Saltsburg Schools, says he intends to pass along the latest on the lawsuit he filed.
The original lawsuit filed by SOSS against the district was thrown out of federal court due to a jurisdictional issue. The case is now before Indiana County President Judge Thomas Bianco.
