The Pirates have reportedly signed pitcher Domingo German.
The 31-year-old from the Dominican Republic was 31-28 with a 4.41 ERA and averaged 9.4 strikeouts a game over six years. He is one of the most recent players to pitch a perfect game last June, striking out nine batters in a win over Oakland German.
He missed the final two months of the season after voluntarily submitting to treatment for alcohol abuse following a clubhouse confrontation with Yankees manager Aaron Boone, and was placed on outright waivers on November 2nd.
