Last night was the traditional “Friday Night Lights” training camp session for the Pittsburgh Steelers
Prior to Training camp getting underway last night at Heinz Field, Steelers Head Coach Mike Tomlin took the mic to thank the fans in attendance, but to also reaffirm the organization’s social justice platforms that started the previous year in the wake of the death of George Floyd. He said his speech was to “reaffirm our position and commitment to being positive contributors to our community and utilize our blessings and resources to do so.”
Meanwhile, there was only one injury to report of from last night’s session. Outside Linebacker Cassius Marsh was seen limping off the field before practice ended. QB Ben Roethlisberger and Defensive Lineman Cam Heyward were given the night off. Wide Receiver Cody White, Running Back Jaylen Samuels, Tackle Zach Banner and Eric Ebron all sat out. Center J.C. Hassenauer still is wearing a sleeve on his injured left leg, but he did some individual work and practiced snaps with Dwayne Haskins. Offensive linemen Chuks Okorafor and Kevin Dotson did some individual work.
