It’s a measure of how far the Penguins have fallen off the playoff map when a loss is counted as a good thing…but that was the case last night in Ottawa, when the Pens came within seconds of being shut out for the third time in four games, then suffered another overtime disappointment. Here’s Paul Steigerwald.
Drew O’Connor returned to the ice for the Pens after missing three games with a concussion. The Penguins recalled defenseman Ryan Shea from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton but he was a healthy scratch and did not play. Jonathan Gruden passed through waivers and was sent down to the AHL.
The Penguins will have the day off today and take on San Jose at PPG Paints Arena tomorrow night.
