At last night’s Homer City Borough Council meeting, community members got the chance to congratulate Homer City’s K-9 officer on a great career.
It was announced at a meeting in February that council voted to retire K-9 officer Thor, and last night, he and his partner, Chief Anthony Jellison were on-hand for a special celebration to congratulate them both on Thor’s successful career that started in 2014. Thor was out for over 200 calls not just in Homer City, but in surrounding areas too, and Jellison said he appreciated the support from everyone over the years.
Thor’s last day was on March 1st, and he enters retirement as a house pet for Chief Jellison.
In other business, it was announced that the annual cross walk will be held March 29 from 9 AM to Noon through Homer City. It will start at the CMA Parking lot and head to Home Chapel Church, Homer City Presbyterian Church before ending at the Homer City Methodist Church.
