Municipalities in Indiana County will split over $5.1 million in Liquid Fuels to help maintain roadways and bridges.
This is part of $467.2 million that PennDOT has released to communities across the state. The allocation formula is based on population and miles of locally owned roads. To be eligible, a road must be formally adopted as a public street by the municipality, meet certain dimension requirements and be able to safely accommodate vehicles driving at least 15 miles an hour.
Areas that will see the most liquid fuels money come their way include White Township, which will receive $542,205, followed by Indiana Borough with $361,537. Cherryhill Township will see $250,669. Armstrong Township will receive $250,130.
