Five fire companies were called out late last night for a reported structure fire in Montgomery Township.
The call was reported at 9:53 PM for a location on Route 286. Glen Campbell, Commodore, Cherry Tree, Hope and Clymer Fire Departments were dispatched for a possible structure fire. Citizens Ambulance was also called to the scene. Crews were cancelled en-route, and officials with Glen Campbell fire department said that it was a controlled burn.
Other than that call, it was relatively quiet on Sunday for Indiana County’s First Responders. Two automatic fire alarm calls were reported. One was a call on Philadelphia Street in Indiana Borough at 1:30 PM that brought out Indiana Fire Association companies two and three, and the other was on Route 422 in Armstrong Township that brought Elderton Fire Department out at 2:59 PM.
