UPDATE: Charges were officially filed this morning. District Attorney Robert Manzi said that four felony charges were filed against Reed Tantlinger. They are homicide by vehicle while DUI, two counts of DUI, and fleeing or attempting to elude police.
WHAT WE FIRST REPORTED
A Homer City man is due in court today for a preliminary arraignment hearing on charges related to a fatal crash in January of last year.
23-year-old Reed Thomas Tantlinger is due in the court of District Judge Christopher Welch for the arraignment on charges of homicide by vehicle while DUI, two counts of DUI-controlled substance and summary driving charges connected with the crash in the Westbound lanes of Route 422 in Pine Township on January 7th, 2023. State police said at the time that 25-year-old Hunter McCloskey was killed in the accident when his car was rear-ended by a pickup truck driven by Tantlinger. The force of the impact pushed him into several boulders and a utility pole on the southern shoulder of the road.
A preliminary hearing will be held on March 11th.
