A Spring Church man died in a crash on Route 156 in South Bend Township yesterday.
State police say that 22-year-old Nicholas DiFilippo, Jr. of Spring Church was driving East on Route 156 when for an unknown reason, his car crossed into the opposite lane and collided nearly head on with a truck driven by Jacob Edge of Wilmore. DiFilippo was declared dead at the scene, while Edge suffered suspected minor injuries and was taken to Indiana Regional Medical Center.
The road was closed in both directions for several hours, and there was also a fuel spill that required the Armstrong County HAZMAT unit to be on-scene.
